ADAPEI 64
The Departmental Association of Parents and Friends of People with Intellectual Disabilities of the Pyrénées-Atlantiques was created in 1962 to meet the needs and expectations of families. A commitment of more than 50 years that has not wavered, in particular for the creation of structures adapted to the reception of people with mental disabilities. With its 41 centres located in the department, many services are available (training, work assistance, housing, children, etc.). These establishments each have a speciality (child, adult, elderly, work) but they all have the same objective of support and the same values of tolerance, appreciation and solidarity. Reintegration through work is a priority with great success in ESATs (establishment and service of assistance through work). In addition to these services, the association also provides important listening and moral support to parents and families.
