ARCHIVES INTERCOMMUNALES
This library was at the centre of attention for the great national collection of archives for the centenary of the First World War. In addition to this action, you will find a very extensive documentary fund for the city of Pau and the town of town, including old documents, photographs and historical postcards. Animations and exhibitions are organized there. It is a place of life where history and memory meet. Located in the old tramways factory, the site is already a journey in history. Built in 1899 by the company Concessionnaire des tramways palois, it housed two steam machines producing the electricity necessary for the operation of the oars. The smoke ran out of the brick chimney. Two trams circulated between 1900 and 1931, when they were replaced by a more modern bus network. A small visit will be interesting and rewarding!
