UNIVERSITY OF PAU AND THE ADOUR COUNTRIES - CAMPUS
University located on a land of more than 20 hectares, divided into several buildings, offering an architectural homogeneity.
Organized on more than 20 hectares of land, it is divided into several buildings in the style of an American campus. Huge lawns, big trees, space and architectural homogeneity make it a kind of small village where it is very pleasant to walk around. At the instigation of Mayor Louis Sallenave, a first building was constructed in 1962. A typical example of the functional buildings of the 1960s, the science faculty is in the shape of a bar with a very bright glass hall. In 1968, organized around a patio in the form of an antique atrium, the building of the Faculty of Letters was created. In 1977, the architect André Grésy completed the law school building, which forms an arc around a terrace. In the centre of the field is the "Presidency" and the two libraries. All these buildings are designed to blend into the landscape by their materials (lots of bricks and tiles) and height (two stories at most). Throughout the year, UPPA welcomes nearly 12,000 students and research laboratories.
