The Crotoy locks were built under Napoleon III in 1865 by Ferdinand De Lesseps to compensate for the silting of the Bay following the diversion of the Somme. To see them functioning, you will have to visit them either at high tide, when they fill up the water, or five hours after the full sea, when they open to release that water. When we talk about "hunting pool", do not think of hunters but of hunting as in toilets.
