PIERRE-GUERLAIN STREET
The charming street housing the hotel built by perfumer Pierre Guerlain.
A native of Abbeville and a lover of Crotoy and the Somme bay, the famous perfumer Pierre Guerlain did a lot for this commune, bringing the all-Paris to the area in the second half of the 19th century. It was at this time that Le Crotoy became a favourite holiday destination. In 1860, he had a hotel built for the arrival of Empress Eugenie, whom he perfumed and who never came. After his death, the hotel was taken over and enlarged by the renowned chef Delant, who renamed it the Grand Hotel. So it is in the charming street that bears the perfumer's name that we find the emblematic Villa Le Souvenir, now the Hotel Les Tourelles, whose chic red-orange façade catches the eye.
