ST. LÉGER'S CHURCH
This church boasts a number of curiosities, including Romanesque capitals.
This 12th-century church has a number of interesting features. The most remarkable are the Romanesque capitals. On each column head in the nave, transept and chancel are depicted curious scenes such as the Devil and the Good Lord, the deadly sins, half-bird half-serpent monsters, and so on. A real spectacle! The pointed vaults are among the oldest in France. A stained-glass window in the church shows the execution of Saint Léger, then bishop of Autun in the 7th century. A church full of stories and history!
