ST. JOHN THE BAPTIST CHURCH
Flamboyant gothic style church, one of the strongholds of the First World War located in Péronne.
A precious symbol of the pre-Revolutionary period, the church, in a beautiful flamboyant Gothic style, is prominently displayed in the town's main square. Seemingly devoid of history, it was one of the strongholds of the First World War. It was first used as an observation post in 1914, then as a prison in January 1916 (almost 500 French soldiers were imprisoned here) and, alas, fell into ruin following the July 1916 offensive, before being restored in 1932. The church is 45 meters long and has three naves.
