THE BRITTANY GATE
Red brick gate topped with pavilions, built to keep traffic moving for Peronnais and other travelers.
At the end of a small street just outside the town center, this red brick gate is topped by pavilions. It was built into the old ramparts, a reminder of the fortified town at the time. Built in the 17th century to keep Péronnais and travellers moving while the main gate was being rebuilt, it owes its name to Saint Fursy and his companions. If you have the time and inclination, step through the gate into the adjacent park: ideal for a family picnic or a leisurely stroll!
