HOLY SPIRIT CHAPEL
Flamboyant gothic chapel, welcoming pilgrims who came to venerate a mysterious crucifix washed up on the shore of Rue.
It's a real gem of flamboyant Gothic art! The Chapelle du Saint-Esprit, listed as a Monument Historique, was built between 1440 and 1515 to shelter the stream of pilgrims who came to venerate a mysterious crucifix that washed up on the Rue shore in August 1101. The façade and interior of the monument are breathtakingly beautiful. Magnificently ornate vaults, enigmatic statues, the lacy stonework of the upper treasury: the majesty of the place is both impressive and intriguing. The narthex (vestibule) is freely accessible, so you can take in all the sights!
