ULSTER TOWER
Replica of a tower in Clandeboye Park, also known as the Belfast Tower or Helen Tower.
A piece of Ireland in the heart of the Haute-Somme, to remember the 36th Ulster Division (Ireland), a quarter of whose men were killed, wounded, missing or taken prisoner on July1, 1916. The Ulster Tower, also known as the Belfast Tower or Tour Hélène, is a copy of a tower in Clandeboyne Park in Ireland, where the Irish used to train. On site, there's a small café adjoining a museum room featuring a number of astonishing military items... It's a fascinating and moving stopover, well worth the detour!
