THE CASTLE OF ETCHAUZ
Charming hotel in Saint-Etienne-de-Baïgorry with spacious, refined and elegant rooms.
In a dream setting, both outside, with a superb park, and inside, the walls, furniture, canopies, bedspreads, carpets, paintings, fireplaces ... speaking for themselves, the castle overlooking the village with its two corner towers, is built on a promontory (feudal mound). It has become a charming hotel. Exceptional rooms, spacious, refined and elegant, royally furnished, sing the praises of a preciously preserved era. There is the room of the maidens of the Etchauz family, which smells of romanticism, the room of Marshal Harispe, in Empire style (beautiful view of the village for the servant of Napoleon III !), that of the viscounts and its adjoining turret, decorated with hunting trophies, the pleasures of the period... The height of refinement comes in the suites, notably the Navarrese suite with its spectacular lounge with its beautiful golden furniture and bathrooms decorated with rare refinement... Château life continues on the ground floor, in the dining room, with stone walls animated with stuffed animal heads, a huge china cabinet in front of an old table and Louis XIII chairs, in the library still ... And of course, in the park, royally arranged which can also be the setting for receptions, weddings ... An exceptional place! Royal.
