In Saint-Jean-de-Luz, the Jaï-alaï (covered pelota court) is well known. The local club, Gaztenak, founded in 1982, trains youngsters in pelota, specializing in cesta punta in winter and grand chistera in summer. What is a Jaï-alaï? It's a fronton where cesta punta is played, with a side wall perpendicular to the frontis, located to the left of it, and a back wall parallel to the frontis. Sessions open to young people and adults last 1h30.
