NOTRE-DAME PRIORY

A charming little church backing onto a priory in Alloue, including a rare Monument Historique room.
With its harmonious proportions, this small church adjoining a priory has undergone restoration work that has enhanced its appearance. The buildings of the former priory, which are privately owned, frame a small courtyard accessible by a stone bridge. The church features a rare piece, listed as a Monument Historique, an antependium, i.e. a removable altar frontal, made of embossed leather and painted in polychrome. Opposite this superb piece is an elegant 18th-century polychrome wooden statue of the Virgin and Child.
