FESTIVAL DES MUSIQUES METISSES
A real institution in Angoulême is celebrating the fortieth edition in 2015. The event led by Christian Mousset continued to reinvent itself and widen. The festival is a three-day ode to African, Caribbean, Latin American, Indian Ocean and other musical scenes. From popular music to a more contemporary scene, the emphasis is on joie de vivre and original reconciliations between cultures. In the image of this living-together, festival goers are from all walks of life, from all ages and the atmosphere in the village is more warm and family-friendly.
A myriad of stands border the village with free entrance: book, tasty and international dining, reading stands, relaxation spaces… ideal for children and day activities. At night, concerts rotate heads and trémousser the public. Great names made their first French scene in Angoulême: Salif Keita, Johnny Clegg, Cesária Évora, Khaled, Cheb Boussif, Kassav '… and hundreds of artists are invited each year, poster heads as IAM for the year 2015 or new talents that will definitely win a new audience on the stage of the festival. The festival also opens to other audiences with the festival "out of walls", literary meetings or storytellers, music workshops with children, took office in Angoulême and its region to extend the magic of the festival.
