Museum organizing temporary exhibitions with a scenographic space for children, conferences and guided tours

It's the Charente for Nile! Installed at the foot of the ramparts, in the former Joseph Bardou le Nil paper mills, which operated until 1972, this museum overlooks the Charente and bears witness to the intense industrial activity that once reigned around the river. The permanent exhibition unveils the local paper history in a museography articulated around wheels and sluice gates still operated by water. In addition, there are temporary exhibitions on various paper-related themes, guided tours and lecture cycles.

Un lieu original avec une expo permanente sur le passé de l'industrie du papier à Angoulême et de remarquables expo temporaires, parfois sans équivalent en France - voire en Europe - guidées par des guides compétents et passionnés, disponibles aux questions des visiteurs - de tous âges !

Très belle exposition sur les statues de papier de l'artiste Li Hong bo. On ne se doute pas qu'à Angoulême on peut trouver ce type d'exposition : très originale et vue nul part ailleurs. L'exposition permanente au rez de chaussée est également instructive et rappelle le passé papetier de la ville.
