CENTRAL HÔTEL-RESTAURANT
Well located hotel with elegant rooms and restaurant with regional specialities.
In the heart of the medieval city of Saint-Jean-Pied-de-Port, in a house of character dating from 1789, you will bathe in an oasis of tranquility where the weight of the heritage transcends. Entirely renovated in 2015, the establishment has kept its soul with its original tiles, its monumental central staircase, but with contemporary touches and the necessary equipment. The elegant and comfortable rooms feature a private bathroom or shower room and flat-screen TV and are accessible by lift. On the ground floor, the Central's restaurant offers regional specialities: garbure, Basque chicken, duck confit, Basque omelette, lamb sweetbreads with pimientos, braised trout with Jurançon cheese, Izarra soufflé and Basque cake... to be enjoyed on the banks of the river Nive. Perfectly situated, you can walk through the village, then stroll along the river or climb up to the citadel ramparts or spread out more widely in the Basque Country. Ideal for a stopover, a stay in discovery of Lower Navarre and only 1 hour from the coast. To your hiking boots, your bikes and other fishing rod!

Sadly I felt very unwelcome and sad that a receptionist is able to treat her customers this bad.
Luckily the area has a lot of other restaurants with much better service and friendly atmosphere.
Rooms are clean and warm.
Best position in town.
