ST. MATHIAS CHURCH
A church enormously reworked with a portal of the XIIth century, with capitals presenting the virtuosity of the Romanesque art
The commune's main church, it was built in the 12th century and altered several times, even remaining in the open air for over 100 years. Completely rebuilt in the 13th century, it became a place of pilgrimage thanks to its relics, before suffering further damage.
It attracts attention for its portal, where the capitals fully express the virtuosity of Romanesque art, and its bell tower. The latest restoration work has enabled the stained glass windows to be redesigned as a "poem of color and light", according to their designer.
