THE GARDENS OF THE ABRIDGEMENT
Gardens with a collection of over 101 oak species
To recreate the park devastated by the 1999 storm, the owners appealed to prestigious contemporary artists like Andy Golsworthy, Antony Gormley, Christian Lapie and Joël Shapiro. The latter used with curved wood curves, oak trunks and Redwood and other wood affected by the storm to perform original sculptures. At the edge of the oak forest, a corner of the park is reserved for the Querceriaie, a collection of over 101 species of oaks! An amazing visit! The garden in the dominant tones of yellow and orange is superb.
