NATIONAL NECROPOLIS AND RESISTANCE MEMORIAL
An impressive hilltop necropolis containing the graves of World War II resistance fighters and servicemen.
The building is impressive both in its size and in its architecture: the V of Victory embedded in a huge Lorraine cross, measuring 21 meters high. The memorial, built on a hill, overlooks the cemetery below which contains more than 2,000 graves of resistance fighters and soldiers of the Second World War, whatever their religion. It also contains three World War I combatants. The bas-reliefs of the memorial are real stone books, which tell the story of the civil and military resistance.
