Explore the Antenne Valley, discover the site of the ancient Fortress of Richemont, which includes a chapel extending a Romanesque crypt and an old cemetery. Just next door, there is a huge shelter in which the Rural Institute for Education and Guidance (Iréo) has been established. Very old trees keep the place. The sculpted boxes highlight the foundations that remain of this castle dismantled in 1178 by Richard Lion's Heart. The present church is on the location of the old chapel that had suffered numerous landslides. The Romanesque crypt, a rectangular plane with beautiful tents on plant grounds is all that remains of the old place of worship and is one of the most beautiful examples of the beginnings of Romanesque art in the Charente in the th century.
