The castle of Claix perched on a rock, is covered with an Italian style terrace
Perched on a rocky outcrop, Château de Claix, also known as Château Saint-Georges, belongs to the dairy it dominates. It was built in the 18th century, replacing a completely destroyed medieval castle. The second floor is crowned by a triangular pediment, and the château is covered by an Italian-style terrace. One of the building's corners is equipped with a watchtower, which unbalances the whole. This large rectangular building, nestled in the vegetation, is privately owned and cannot be visited, but its exteriors are visible.
