THE MERCHANT'S HOUSE
Museum located in the Hôtel Dupuy d'Angeac, housing a collection of Art Nouveau decorative objects
At the entrance to the Jardin Public, in the Hôtel Dupuy d'Angeac, built around 1838, the Musée d'Art et d'Histoire has undergone a facelift, becoming the Maison du Negociant. For its reopening, it hosts the François 1er exhibition. The tour immerses visitors in the world of the 19th-century merchant. Through travels, paintings, sculptures and archaeological objects, we retrace the intimacy of these merchants and their role in the flourishing Cognac trade.
Temporary exhibitions and cultural programming are part of the museum's dynamic approach.
