The Prunier house began bottling and exporting its cognac in 1769. In the mid-19th century, Jean Prunier had the historic buildings and cellars built next to the railway, considering it the best means of transport. Today, La Lieutenance, the oldest Cognac house, belongs to the Prunier house, which has made it its point of sale for the entire range of its cognacs, including a few unique vintages.
