Noble houses in Saint-Palais, in the province of Basse-Navarre in the Basque Country. In the walls and facades, the heads of the last kings of Navarre are engraved forever. We recognize Henri II, Jeanne d'Albret, Henri III, the future Henri IV of France. The last 2 heads date from the 17th-century extension: a woman (probably the owner of the house) and a devil. In the same street, you'll find other remarkable 13th-century houses. What's surprising here is that it was the houses themselves that could be ennobled!
