Basque pelota is a deeply-rooted tradition in the Basque Country. The current fronton, where the games are played, was built in 1884. Since then, many pelotaris of all generations from the region have become legends. Pelota, chistera, rebot pasaka, joko-garbi and handball are all played at the Gatxiki trinquet on the left. This sporting activity is an integral part of Basque culture, and can be found in the United States, South America and England.
