The company L'Art de l'Espadrille is located in the historic cradle of its production, the Basque Country. Its unique know-how is recognized by the label Entreprise du patrimoine vivant.
History. The espadrille has survived the centuries, made up of natural products from all over the world, such as the skirt and latex that make up the sole cord; and the cotton canvas that makes up the upper.
It is in the Basque Country that the espadrille is the most worn and therefore the most manufactured. The company of the Art of Espadrille is distinguished by its traditional manufacturing methods. Each sneaker is hand-stitched from the canvas to the festoon stitch, for ready-to-wear (size 20 to 46) or custom-made.
The company has been able to please prestigious customers such as the Maison Hermès, the "Merci" store in Paris, the Musée de la Toile de Jouy...
The products. A so-called "classic" espadrille in canvas with a flat sole, or a more elaborate espadrille with heels, with elastic laces, silk, lace or other... but also bags and bags.
Employment. All products are handmade by Pascal Douet himself, Maritchu and Véronique.
