LA SALINE
An observation area at the Salines, allowing visitors to discover the world of salt and the thousand-year-old history of Salies-de-Béarn.
The observation area of the salt works allows you to retrace the manufacture of salt thanks to explanatory panels on the activity, detailing each stage up to the marketing. You will be able to see, from May to October, the harvest of the salt of Salies-de-Béarn and the salt flower with the net. In the museographic pole, it is all the history of the salt of Salies-de-Béarn which is told by an audioguide. This interactive space retraces the history of this thousand-year-old white gold, from the legend of the wild boar to the current production, passing by its historical union with the Bayonne Ham. The latter will then be offered to you for tasting to close this visit in the heart of the Salt of Salies.
