THE LITTLE LINEN HOUSE
Small village where flax was produced and supplied the Corderie Royale de Rochefort
In the past, linen was produced in the small village of Lignières, supplying the Corderie Royale in Rochefort. The municipality decided to create a museum that traces the history of linen through the centuries. It evokes the daily life of a weaver during the Second Empire, through a collection of spinning wheels and looms and explanations of the history of weaving and flax growing. Throughout the year, the establishment offers spinning, weaving and lace workshops for children aged 5 and over.
