ST. JOHN THE BAPTIST PRIORY
Priory located southwest of Villebois-Lavalette, with conventual buildings dating from the century and remodeled in the century.
To the south-west of Villebois-Lavalette, the Benedictine priory has 12th-century monastery buildings that were remodelled in the 15th century. For the record, a few years ago the owners discovered frescoes dating from 1250 in an astonishingly fresh state. They are now classified as Historic Monuments. A lot of research still needs to be undertaken in this priory, which has preserved itself spectacularly for centuries.
