Church in the center of one of the most charming districts of Ruffec, a testimony of the Romanesque art
This 12th-century church is a fine example of Romanesque art. The listed facade, with its three-part division and blind arcades framing the doorway, reveals the Poitevin influence. Fires forced successive restorations. Inside, under colorful stained glass windows, frescoes and statues take pride of place.
The church is at the center of one of Ruffec's most charming districts, bordered by the remains of the ancient château that once belonged to the Duc de Saint-Simon. The banks of the river Lien are a pleasant place for a stroll.
