Confolens town hall features a remarkable wrought-iron banister
In addition to the services it offers, Confolens town hall is well worth a few minutes' stop to contemplate its architecture. Situated between the 19th-century halles and the river banks, this imposing building occupies a prominent position in the heart of the town. And what could be more emblematic for this "little city of character" as a representative building, than this mansion. Formerly the Dassier des Brosses residence, the building was erected in 1775. The staircase, with its wrought-iron banister, is listed as a historic monument.
