A 50-person capacity gabarre, showcasing the work of the gabariers with a short tour of their work tool.
The gabarre is a traditional boat used to transport goods on the rivers of the Atlantic coast. In Juac, just before Saint-Simon, you can board a gabarre with a capacity of around 50 people. The cruise lasts 1.5 hours, and allows you to discover the history of this part of the Charente from the angle of the locks and river life in the days when trade flourished. The tour includes a visit to the museum. Meet at the Maison des Gabarriers to embark on the Quai de Juac.
