The Maison des Gabarriers presents an exhibition retracing the history of the river Charente at Saint-Simon and the life of the gabarriers.
In a typical eighteenth and nineteenth centuries house, the Gabarriers house presents an exhibition depicting the history of the Charente River, as well as the men of the river, as well as the timber trades, including the production of the templates with the display of ancient tools of calcareous carpenters and ship models sailing on the Charente. A whole program for a global vision, narrated in a playful way to easily grasp all aspects of life around the river and to keep alive the memories of Saint Simon's elders. A playful visit, to match with a template ride.
