CAVE DE SAINT-SORNIN
The vineyard of Saint-Sornin, between La Rochefoucauld and Montbron, predates the birth of cognac. This vineyard is, historically, the oldest of France. The cellar was created in 1967, highlighting the grape varieties of the vineyard: gamay (red and rosé), Merlot, white ugni (marine white), sauvignon, sornin-barrel (blend of Cabernet and Merlot reared in oak barrel), sornin-cabernet. We advise you to taste the local aperitif, called «pélicha» (PErigord, LIMOUSIN, CHArente), prepared from périgourdines strawberries, limousines châtaignes and special cuvée wines from the Cellar of Saint-Sornin. The shop, open every day except Sunday and day of celebration, has just been completely renovated and is the theme of the region's prehistoric past.
