RESTORED MOUND OF THE HUT
It is not known that, at the time of construction, the dolmens were covered with stones forming vast burial. In the forest of Boixe, on the edge of the road, an archaeologist, a professor at the University of Poitiers, led a very beautiful restoration of one of the burial forming a necropolis that spans several communes dating from the first half of the fourth millennium before our age. The visible monument is made of concentric masses of dry stones covering three burial chambers. It's very beautiful, both simple and powerful. Attention to the signs, two panels to a hundred meters of distance indicate the dolmen of the Boixe. The restored tumulus is visible from the D 116. The second panel leads to a dolmen, devoid of mound, in the forest. The mound and necropolis have been classified Historic monument since 1991.
