A tower in Benon, once known as the Tour des Six-Sots.
The name of this monument is intriguing! But where does it come from? To find out, we need to go back to 1828. Countess Cayla, owner of part of the Benon forest, was refusing the inhabitants a right of way. After a complaint and unsuccessful negotiations, it was finally the new Countess who was obliged to compensate the mayor's lawyer. The town council decided, by a mere 6 votes, to use this sum to build a tower in the middle of the village. Standing 18 m high, it features a clock and scales.
