BICYCLE MUSEUM
Museum in Hiers-Brouage, presenting the history of the famous draisienne bicycle, the oldest one, and exhibiting 100 rare pieces
Brouage is not the easiest town to cycle through, the cobblestones making it a tricky experience. But the small town is lucky enough to have a museum entirely dedicated to the bicycle. It is the perfect opportunity to learn more about the history of the velocipede, from the famous draisienne - the oldest - to the current models. A total of 100 rare pieces are exhibited here: the Michaux velocipede, inventor of the pedals on the front wheel, the Grand Bi with its 3-meter wheel, or a child's bicycle entirely made of wood sold in 1903.
