STRONGHOLD
Fort built in 1703, classified as a historical monument in 1996 and now houses a vacation village, a campsite and a sailing school
At the southern tip of the island of Sainte Catherine, it was built in 1703. Like the other fortifications, it was an integral part of the defensive system designed to protect Rochefort and its arsenal. After being destroyed by an English attack, it was rebuilt in 1778, before being demolished a few years later. Under the First Empire, the fort was completely rebuilt and regularly modernized. Classified as a historic monument in 1996, it now houses a vacation village, campsite and sailing school.

La piscine sensée être chauffée ne l'est pas. Sinon l'emplacement est bien, pas loin du port ni du village pour partir à la visite de l'Île.
