Church with a square Romanesque façade and a portal flanked by blind arcades in Jonzac
Saint-Gervais-Saint-Protais church was probably built in the1st millennium. It features a square Romanesque facade with a portal flanked by blind arcades, highlighted by colonnettes ending in curious pinnacles housing heads. The building was severely damaged during the Hundred Years' War and the Wars of Religion, the scars of which are still visible today. In the 19th century, a bell tower was added. A Merovingian necropolis was discovered in 2008.
