Renowned for its Vauban fortifications, Ré is also home to the Fort de la Prée, the island's oldest military structure. Built during the reign of Louis XIII, it was listed as a historic monument in 2008. Occupied by the German army during the Second World War, then transformed into a vacation camp, it is now open to the public. It's a great opportunity to enjoy a magnificent view, but also to take part in a variety of activities, including a game area! Many events take place in the fort: Java evening, classical music festival...
