Ecomuseum located just off the port of La Flotte, dedicated to the maritime and popular history and traditions of the Ile de Ré

This social museum, located next to the port, is dedicated to the history, traditions and know-how of the Ile de Ré. The visit is divided into four exhibition levels: origins of the island (remains of the Châteliers abbey), traditional activities (maritime and agricultural life), evolution of the Ré-continent link (from sail to bridge), habitat and daily life (reconstruction of a Charentais interior). The Musée du Platin offers temporary exhibitions, off-site guided tours, family activities and events for young visitors.

Simple et de bon goût
Venu avec des enfants, c’est loccasion de souffler à l’ombre des vœux murs tout en découvrant l'âme De l’île et de ce qui a fait son histoire avant l’arrivée du tourisme. Des guides pédagogiques assez adaptés sont fournis. Merci à l’accueil !!

Une jolie visite à faire pour mieux connaître le patrimoine maritime, les travaux ostréicoles, l'histoire et les traditions, ainsi que l'évolution de l'île. Le musée propose des expositions temporaires, des ateliers créatifs, des chasses au trésor, à un prix modeste.
