ASSOCIATION ECHO-MER
Already 16 years since this association, created by skipper David Beaulieu, watches the ocean. As early as 2001, this local eco-citizenship actor put in place a first action to promote the collection of batteries on French ports. Over the years, Echo Sea has continued to pursue its goal of raising the awareness of water yards on waste management in La Rochelle, organising an operation «Stop plastic bags» on the island of Ré, collecting used sails, oyster pockets, cork and 2016, neoprene. The association offers a second life to all its waste so that they can no longer incinerate. The oyster pockets have become baskets and panières, the cork is used as a fitting of the cushions. You will find all these items in the shop. By buying them, not only will you make a gesture for the environment, but you will have objects that are beyond the image of briefcase, computer panniers, all can be personalized with the company name. But why not take advantage of it to leave at sea? The association, in partnership with the marina, offers educational walks around the catchment area. The goal? To present port history, of course, but also to address pollution and the impact of our lives on harbour waters.
