Fresh products in one of the best Asian restaurants just a few meters from the market.

This is undoubtedly one of the best Asian restaurants in La Rochelle. Located in a quiet street, just a few meters from the Halles, Sakura is well worth a visit. It's a great opportunity to enjoy the warm welcome of a couple who are as attentive as they are discreet. This restaurant is a sure bet for sushi lovers, as chef Jeff has been preparing sushi in the purest spirit of Japanese cuisine for over twenty years. It's true that the dining room could do with a little sprucing up, and you'll have to wait a long time at times, but who cares, here you're sure to enjoy fresh produce. All you have to do is look at the menu to understand why so many sushi lovers come here. The key word here is freshness - simply unmissable! Of course, Le Petit Futé advises you to devour sushi in pairs (salmon, sea bass, sea bream, pollack...), maki (pickled radish, cucumber, tuna). Several menus are available for the whole family to enjoy. Would you like your friends to try this cuisine? Don't hesitate to order! TRès bon restaurant japonais, le meilleur de la rochelle. Les brochettes sont excellentes bien cuite avec une sauce divine, tout est fait maison contrairement aux brochettes insipides des autres restaurants.
Les proprietaires sont adorables et l'ambiance y est familiale.
Nous venons depuis plus de 10 ans avec toujours autant de plaisir

Will sakura is only Japanese restaurant which still remains in the traditional, everything is homemade and in front of you. The fish are fresh and cut to order (not as all the new restaurants cross which receive prepared industrial sushi already all). After 23 years of trade I think that the chef Sakura does not have a lesson to receive (I know the chef Sakura from Fujiyama).

I loved this restaurant, because you can see the chef preparing in front of you. the sushi and maki are prepared to order by the hands of the chef .les fish are fresh, kebabs are also homemade, and to crown it all even sauce is homemade so rare to find a restaurant like. the welcome is very friendly and the owner is too arrowroot and it loved children.

a warm welcome and friendly owner, ready small touch of causerie, so do not expect the Japanese obligatory. as far as the sushi and sashimi fresh fish is there, they are very good however for purists cut and the design is not the height: the rice pellet is too pasty and you can see the finger marks (because mall rolled), the maki are a little too rubbery. and the soya sauce cups are not adapted to sashimi difficult to make a quick dip.
