UNIVERSITÉ DE LA ROCHELLE

Founded in 1993, the Université de La Rochelle has grown steadily, offering more and more courses and welcoming more and more students eager to work in a pleasant environment. Today, the three faculties, the IUT and the IAE welcome some 8,595 students who follow courses taught by nearly 500 lecturers. The University of La Rochelle trains students in 4 fields (art, law, human and social sciences and science) for 74 national diplomas and three preparatory courses for competitive examinations (administrative, judicial, grandes écoles). While the La Rochelle faculty is not yet on a par with the region's two major conurbations, since 2009 it has been one of the first twenty universities to become autonomous. Above all, it offers a wide choice of courses recognized for their value in terms of the professional integration of graduates, a library open more than 60 hours a week, and preparatory courses for administrative competitive examinations. Students benefit from particularly favorable conditions, including recent housing, proximity to the ocean and access to a wide range of cultural and sporting activities.
