A little-known site, long kept secret, the Bunker has now been transformed into a museum and welcomes all Second World War enthusiasts.

This is undoubtedly one of the most unusual places in La Rochelle. Just a stone's throw from Les Halles, on a street lined with restaurants, this bunker is a real eye-catcher. It was built in 1941 by the German army to keep naval officers safe in the event of bombing. But there were no bombs! Abandoned for a time, it was transformed into a museum in 2013, allowing history buffs and the curious to immerse themselves in the history of the city during the Second World War through videos, photos and explanations.
