MASSIOU PARK
Park presenting plant species from all over the world, a good address for a break in La Rochelle.
It's neither the best-known nor the largest park in La Rochelle, far behind the Parc Charruyer, but it's well worth a visit. Also known as the Jardin des plantes, it is located just behind the Natural History Museum and was created in the 17th century by the Jesuit College. Transformed into a botanical garden in 1800, it features plant species from all over the world. We recommend a stop here for a break from the hustle and bustle of the city. Two can come together to admire the orangeries, kiss, read, eat a sandwich...
