The market, set up under the 19th-century Halles on the site of the Grande Boucherie, is a must for gourmets. Open every morning, it's bursting with local produce! Rochelais locals continue to flock to the aisles for the inevitable seafood, as well as fruit and vegetables. Wednesday and Saturday are market days! The stalls fill the adjacent streets with color, much to the delight of shoppers, who have plenty of time to find the product of their choice while enjoying a coffee break.

Vieux Marché de La Rochelle 17000 La Rochelle
Le lundi n'est pas un jour de "grand marché" et tous les stands n'étaient pas ouverts sur le vieux marché de La Rochelle. Néanmoins, il y avait largement de quoi satisfaire ses besoins courants aussi bien avec les quelques commerçants travaillant à l'intérieur du marché couvert qu'avec ceux, notamment les primeurs, travaillant en extérieur. Les autochtones ne s'y trompent pas car il y avait tout de même du monde.

Au plaisir des sens
Un très beau marché situé sous une vielle halle et les rues adjacentes. On y trouvent de nombreux produits régionaux. Le petit plus, dans les cafés autours du marché on peut prendre un plateau que l'on remplis de fruit de mer chez les différents poissonnier moyennant une consommation!
