GODET
Bonaventure Godet had two passions: the ocean and cognac. He settled in La Rochelle in the middle of the 16th century to export salt from the Aunis and wine. This native Dutchman began distilling wine and exporting it to his country in barrels, without any marks. The house only used his name in 1782. In 1984, an English group bought the house of Godet, but Jean-Jacques Godet, of the 14th generation, took it over in 1995. His three sons are ready to take over. The company sells VS, VSOP, XO and a whole category of high-end cognacs and old cognacs aged between 70 and 170 years.
