Loix has a special bond with what is still known as white gold. If you feel like flavoring your dishes with fleur de sel, head for this store, which works exclusively with salt from the Ile de Ré. There are a number of stores in the villages around Ré, including the one in Ars, which manufactures salt-based food products and sau-fine-based cosmetics (concentrated seawater enriched and harvested in the summer in the salt marshes): scrubs, anti-wrinkle creams... Products are available for sale online.
