MANGER SUR LA PLAGE
Very good value restaurant offering home-made fries in Marennes.
Born from the association of the Gillardeau oyster family and Mickaël Gallas, the former chef of the gastronomic L'Agape in Angoulême, this restaurant is one of the beautiful surprises of the region. The old gargote giving directly on the beach of Marennes has become a superb place, with trendy decoration without being ostentatious. From its terrace, or through the large bay windows in winter, you can enjoy an exceptional view of the Maumusson gully, with the Seudre bridge on one side and the Ile d'Oléron on the other. On the kitchen side, the chef works only with fresh and quality products. You will discover them in a very good value for money lunch formula while in the evening, the menu of the day will delight gourmets: fish tartar served with homemade chips, lamb hazelnut and sun vegetables and always fish from the market and oysters. Although the menu is simple, the chef's gastronomic passion is evident in every dish... Open until the evening, the restaurant is ideal for a gourmet break before a moment of idleness. On the program, delicious pancakes (including homemade chocolate), but also ice creams. You can even sleep there, settling in one of the four beautiful rooms that offer a nice view of the lagoon.
